Glass factory Stölzle Lausitz at Weisswasser was hit by an accident on Tuesday evening. According to first information, a melting furnace has broken and molten glass has flown into the substructure. No injuries or larger damage was reported. The glass has to cool down now and shall be recovered.
This is not the first incident at this facility, early April, firefighters had helped the company to cool down a weak spot at one of the furnaces.
The company operates two glass melting furnaces at this facility with 4 production lines for lead free tableware glass such as stemware with machine pulled and melted stems.
