Ein Spacer wird zwischen zwei Glaspakete als Trennmittel eingebracht. Bisher wurden diese von Anlagenbedienern manuell eingelegt. Alle bisherigen Automatisierungsversuche in diesem Bereich sind gescheitert, jedoch konnte Fa. Hager nun die erste Anlage erfolgreich in Betrieb nehmen.
Der Spacerleger ist ein neuentwickelter Portalroboter. Eingebunden ist dieser in eine Glas-Beschichtungsanlage, deren von Fa. Hager gebautes Materialfluss- und Handhabungs-System beschichtete Glasscheiben auftragsbezogen und nach Kriterien wie Materialstärke, Farbe, Format und Güte sortiert und auf marktübliche Innenlader-Gestelle für LKWs stapelt. Der Spacerleger ermöglicht ein Paketieren solcher Scheiben mittels automatisch eingelegter Platzhalter (engl. „Spacer“). Je nach Glasformat variiert hierbei die Anzahl, Anordnung und eigentliche Größe dieser sog. Spacer. Bislang erfolgte dies durch Arbeiter, was neben deren Zeit auch einen entsprechenden Stillstand des jeweiligen Anlagenteils beanspruchte. In welcher zeitlichen Abfolge diese Arbeitsschritte erforderlich sind, erkennt der Spacerleger anhand einer elektronischen Auftragsverwaltung vorab.
Die bei einem Endkunden in Sachsen-Anhalt installierte Anlage hat zudem die bislang schnellste Taktzeit in diesem Bereich: Im Betrieb wird alle 20 Sekunden eine 6000 x 3210 mm messende Glasscheibe beschichtet wodurch am dortigen Standort jährlich mehrere Millionen Quadratmeter beschichtetes Flachglas mit spezifizierbaren Eigenschaften produziert werden.
