Optical pyrometer that can measure temperatures from 275 degrees C to 2250 degrees C, at up to 2000 readings per second with an accuracy of 1-2 degree C and drift of 0.1 degree C per year. This pyrometer is ideal for accurately measuring Gob temperatures however it can also be applied to mould and forehearth temperature measuring applications which can then be interfaced with most control systems for visual temperature displays and for logging data to show deviations and temperature trends or ultimately incorporated into a model based control system to enhance overall process control. The system can also be applied to Fibre Glass forehearth, stream and spinner applications.
