Hans Wimmer, the founder of HaWi, previously ran an electrical master workshop, which by 1995 had already begun to specialise in innovative environmental technology. That company became HaWi Energietechnik GmbH in the year 2001. In 2005, its premises at Rogglfing near Eggenfelden, in Lower Bavaria, underwent considerable expansion and offices were also established in Spain (2006), Italy (2006), France (2007) and Greece (2007).
